Federation of Nepalese Journalists has objected to the incident of former minister and UML leader Mahesh Basnet threatening journalist Tekman Shakya. The federation issued a statement on Saturday demanding action against Basnet.
The federation warned the related people not to violate the freedom of the press by threatening the journalists and saying that they can express their opinions according to the law if they disagree with the news. In a statement signed by General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal, requested the related agencies to take legal action against those involved in threatening journalists .
