Human rights organizations have strongly condemned the indiscriminate use of lethal force by the police in the Jen-G demonstration.

The Human Rights Network Accountability Monitoring Committee has demanded that the Minister of Communication and Information Technology and the Minister of Home Affairs resign immediately. A strong demand has also been made for an independent investigation of the incident and an immediate response to Jen-G's demands. The

committee issued a statement saying that dozens of protesters died due to excessive, indiscriminate and disproportionate use of lethal force by the police during the Zen-G demonstration against corruption and social media bans.

It is the opinion of the monitoring that the incident happened due to the actions of the Prime Minister and Ministers who are unwilling to reconsider even when there is all-round opposition, completely ignoring the adverse effects on the young generation in terms of social, economic, psychological, educational etc.

'As a result of the government's complete failure to take precaution, vigilance and precautions to make the pre-announced movement nationwide and make it orderly and peaceful,  A very sad and tragic incident has happened,'' the statement said, 'We demand to immediately address the legitimate demands of the undemocratic, anti-human rights stubborn Genji generation, arrange proper treatment for the injured, and provide proper relief and compensation to the families of the deceased. They have also demanded an independent investigation of the reprehensible incident, which was reduced to the extent of causing terrible damage to the lives of citizens by violating the established values of the use of force.

The committee has expressed regret that even the National Human Rights Commission has failed to fulfill the constitutional responsibility of always trying to prevent human rights violations through monitoring in sensitive and serious situations where the young generation came to the streets with pre-announcement.

On behalf of the accountability monitoring committee, human rights activists Rajuprasad Chapagai (coordinator), Rukmani Maharjan, Charan Prasai, Dr. Gaurishankarlal Das, Dr. Mandira Sharma, Dinesh Tripathi, Suman Adhikari, Devi Sunuwar, Baburam Giri, Dr. Birendra Thapalia, Omprakash Aryal along with issued a joint statement and made this demand.
