The government has again requested all social media platforms to come to the registration process. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology issued a statement on Thursday and urged everyone to participate in the process, stating that the government is committed to ensuring an orderly and accountable 'digital' environment while respecting the freedom of expression guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal.
Gajendra Thakur, Spokesperson and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Communications, said in a statement, "All the social media platforms operating in Nepal that have not been listed so far, in accordance with the 'Guidelines for Regulating the Use of Social Media, 2080', urge all those concerned to designate a point of contact, an officer to listen to residential complaints and an officer to monitor the compliance of self-rules within Nepal." It is informed again that no fee will be charged for listing and it will be reactivated from the same moment after listing.'
