UML standing committee member Karn Thapa has been barred from expressing opinions on dissent. Thapa wanted to present his dissenting opinion during the second day session on Saturday under the legislative convention which has been going on since Friday at Godavari in Lalitpur. But President KP Sharma Oli stopped him from having a different opinion.

'They were not allowed to speak even with the programme. Document distributed. But he stopped talking,' said Thapa after he was stopped.

Thapa printed his 30-page dissenting opinion and distributed it in the convention hall. But it is not allowed to present it.

The UMA decided to discuss the different opinions in a standing committee meeting. But a leader said that he was not allowed to speak because the issue of suspension of membership of former president Bidya Devi Bhandari was also raised in a different vote.
