According to the road department, 12 highways across the country have been completely blocked due to floods and 160 highways are operating one-way.
According to the department, Thori-Bhandara-Malekhu, Galchi-Trishuli-Vetravati-Mailung-Syfrubbensi-Rasuwagadhi roads are blocked. Jamunaha-Nepalgunj-Kohalpur-Surkhet-Khulalu-Hilsa (Karnali Highway) is also blocked.
Similarly, Rani-Viratnagar-Itahari-Dharan-Dhankuta-Hile, Leghuwaghat-Tumlingtar-Khandbari-Num-Kimathanka (Koshi highway) has also been completely blocked. According to the department, diversion has been carried out in Varun river. Chatra-Mulghat-Majhitar-Amarapurdanda-Ganeshchowk (Tamor Corridor) is also blocked. Thori-Bhandara-Malekhu, Galchi-Trishuli-Betravati-Mailung-Syfruwensi-Rasuwagadhi road section has also been closed. According to the
department, Chhinchu-Kudu-Jajarkot-Dunai-Dho-Tinje-Marim (very corridor) is also closed. Koilabas-Lamhi, Arjunkhola-Ghorahi-Holeri-Ghartigaon-Thwang-Lukum (Shaheed Marg), Surkhet-Tallo Dungeshwar-Satakhamba-Dullu-Pipalkot-Khulalu-Manma-Nagma-Jumla road is also blocked. According to the
department, Kathmandu-Dhulikhel-Dolalghat-Khadichour-Kodari (Araniko Highway) is also blocked due to road construction.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Bhimarjun Adhikari, said that efforts are on to open the blocked highways across the country as soon as possible.
