Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed serious concern about the effects of climate change. He said that the solution to the crisis is only possible through the unity of the working people.

In the 'Interaction on Forest, Environment and Climate and Management Concept Paper' program organized by Maoist Center Forest, Environment and Climate Department, Dahal, who is also a former Prime Minister, portrayed the impact of climate change as a result of the failure of the capitalist development model. He said, 'In today's world, the very existence of the human race is in crisis due to climate change. If its solution cannot be done correctly, this crisis will deepen.'

President Dahal mentioned that he raised his voice in various international forums in favor of climate justice when he was in the leadership of the government and said, 'We, as the representatives of all the poor countries, have been raising this issue in international forums in a serious manner with the aim of maintaining the hope and trust of the people of all the poor countries of the world under the leadership of Nepal.'

He pointed out the need to take the leadership of the third world countries to raise their voice even though the carbon emissions are being emitted due to the profit-oriented concept of the rich countries, the people of the poor countries have to bear the adverse effects of it and even the amount that is supposed to be given as carbon compensation has not been given yet.

Chairman Dahal said that although the concept of community forest management was introduced in Nepal with the right purpose, it has been distorted recently. Appreciating the concept paper prepared in the

program, President Dahal expressed his belief that it can become not only a party document but also an important document for international intervention and dialogue. Shakti Bahadur Basnet, deputy secretary general of Maoist center and in-charge of the department, former ministers, leaders and experts of all provinces were also present in the

program.
