The flight of Omni Air International, carrying 37 Nepalis who were deported from the United States for not having official documents, has been delayed due to technical problems.

The charter company submitted the schedule to the Tribhuvan International Airport stating that the plane would land in Kathmandu at 2 pm on Wednesday. However, citing technical reasons, the plane will land in Kathmandu at 7 pm on Thursday, an official of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority said. According to the official, the US Embassy in Kathmandu has informed that the charter plane has been delayed in landing in Nepal as per the scheduled schedule due to mechanical problems.

'The ship has not landed in Pakistan yet,' the official said, 'After taking off from America, the citizens of 4/5 countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh will be handed over to the immigration of the respective countries. After landing today at 7 pm, the plane will return to America via Dhaka.'

US President Donald Trump, since starting his second term, has put forward a plan to deport immigrants who do not have official documents and who are accused of being involved in 'criminal' activities. After this decision, 215 Nepalis have been 'deported'. According to the records of the immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport, 197 men and 18 women have been sent to Nepal from the US so far.

If sent to Nepal from America, Dang, West Rukum, East Rukum, Salyan, Myagdi, Parbat, Banke, Rolpa, Baglung, Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu, Jajorkot, Dolakha, Kaski, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Gorkha, Jumla, Jhapa, Doti, Dolpa, Dhankuta, Parsa, Makwanpur, Mustang, Morang, Sindhuli and are from Sunsari. Most are from Dang, West Rukum and East Rukum.
