The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has appointed a new officer in the Nepal Panchang Executive Development Committee. Culture Minister Badri Prasad Pandey made a ministerial decision on Wednesday to appoint Prof. Shambhu Prasad Dhakal was given the responsibility.

Similarly, among the members of the committee, theologian Prof. Devmani Bhattarai, Astrologer Ratidevi Shrestha and Assistant Professor of Astrology Aryavarta Patro (Panchang) Panchangkar  The committee said that Narayan Prasad Niraula was appointed.  Astrologer Lakshman Prasad Panthi's tenure as a member of the

committee is still remaining. Senior Administration Assistant Khilhari Ghimire informed that there is a program to welcome the newly appointed chairman and members of the committee today at the office of the committee, Narayanhiti Darbar Museum.

President and members are appointed for a four-year term. Earlier there was a group led by Prof. Srikrishna Adhikari in the committee. The tenure of the officer-led committee ended on June 23. The executive director of the committee is yet to be appointed. As for the executive director, the process of appointment is going on through open competition. The committee also said that three people have applied for it.
