A meeting was held between Acting Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh and World Bank Vice President for South Asia Region Johannes Jut. In the meeting held today at the Ministry of Urban Development, the collaboration between the World Bank and the Ministry on new projects was discussed.
Greater Lumbini area development project and construction of urban physical infrastructure in Kathmandu, garbage management, river cleanliness and other issues were discussed. In the meeting, Vice President Jut said that it is better for the ministry to focus on two areas and try to advance the plan, saying that the World Bank is positive for cooperation.
The World Bank said that it will help in the areas of Lumbini, Kathmandu Valley's urban foreshore, environmental pollution reduction and river and air cleanliness. It is hoped that this meeting will further strengthen the partnership between the Government of Nepal and the World Bank.
Acting Prime Minister Singh expressed his gratitude for the ongoing cooperation with the World Bank in the projects of the Ministry of Urban Development and expressed his hope that there will be more cooperation in new projects.
