The water level in Saptakoshi river has increased. According to Yograj Khatiwada, Police Spokesperson of District Police Office Sunsari, the water level measurement conducted at 10 o'clock on Sunday night, the water flow in Koshi Barrage has reached 266,560 cusecs per second.
23 gates were opened when the flow of water was measured at 174,375 per second at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. According to spokesperson Khatiwada, out of 56 gates of Koshi barrage, 31 gates have been opened now.
When the flow of water exceeds 150,000 cusecs in Koshi Barre, a red light is lit as a sign of danger. According to the control room, the red light was lit.
Police spokesperson Khatiwada said that the water level is rising due to the rain in the hilly areas.
