The first state-of-the-art Air Ambulance aircraft to be operated by the Nepali Army is landing in Kathmandu on Saturday.According to a military base source, two planes including an air ambulance, which are to be made available to the army under American support, will land in Kathmandu tomorrow via Jaipur, India. It is said that these planes will be handed over to the Mid Air Base of the Army at the Tribhuvan International Airport by the American Embassy next week.

Last Monday, these aircraft from Poland to Nepal, the Polish pilots made a 'special ferry flight'  He was blown away by . They were brought from there to Karachi, Pakistan on the fifth day via Greece, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Muscat.

One of these is an Air Ambulance and the other is a multi-purpose utility aircraft Sky Truck . Military spokesman Assistant Rathi Rajaram Basnet confirmed that these aircraft, which are to be received through the "Land Forces Talk (LAFT)" program, will land in Kathmandu tomorrow (Saturday). "An air ambulance is arriving for the rescue of injured patients, including various disasters and childbirth", military spokesman Basnet told Kantipur, "another is the Sky Truck". Both of these aircraft will increase the capability of military flight.'

According to the Ministry of Defense sources, these aircraft are being made available with the support of about 3 billion rupees. According to the foreign aid coordination source of the Ministry of Finance, the cost of air ambulance is around 1.57 billion. Similarly, the cost of sky trucks used for multi-purpose work is around 1 billion 38 crore rupees. The air ambulance has medical equipment worth 46.6 million rupees.

According to military sources, the new air ambulance is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. It is equipped with onboard medical equipment. This includes stretchers, ventilators, oxygen support systems, defibrillators and basic surgical equipment. It will provide a facility where patients can be treated in the air while transporting them to the hospital in case of emergency .

This kind of facility is going to be available for the first time in Nepal. According to the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority, Gyanendra Bhul, there was no 'dedicated' air ambulance in Nepal. "During the time of Covid, there was a discussion to make Buddha Air's Beechcraft aircraft an air ambulance", spokesperson Bhul said, "one or two foreign charter air ambulances come to Nepal every month". The three used to take at least 20 lakh rupees of Nepalese money . Now there will be a military air ambulance with Nepal's registration number. It has come as a 'game changer' in military flight operations. This will be a new chapter in the aviation capability of the army.'

Nepal had been feeling the need of civil air ambulance for a long time. It will now be easy to bring/carry patients home and abroad by a ship registered in Nepal . Military Air Ambulance service will be cheaper if Nepalese citizens get it. It will also contribute to the Nepalese economy. Now the money doesn't even go out. The money taken by foreigners will be stopped in Nepal. Both the planes brought by the army will be very useful for rescue and remote transport, Bhul said.

Four years ago, the army has already brought 3 sky trucks with American support . With the addition of two more through US assistance, this number will reach 5. The new air ambulance aircraft will be used by the army for disaster rescue, health emergencies, patient rescue and treatment in remote areas and military operations. Due to its ability to land on short runways, Sky Trucks are considered suitable for remote airports and difficult terrains.
