Traffic has been completely blocked on nine different roads across the country due to incessant rain. According to the information here today by the road department, nine different roads have been blocked today due to floods and landslides, while one-way traffic has been operated on 151 road sections.
According to information, out of 371 road sections across the country, 211 road sections have been fully opened. Amit Kumar Sharma, information officer of the road department, informed that the road was blocked due to flood, landslide, inundation, road damage, vehicular traffic problem, bridge collapse, bridge and road construction, and other maintenance works. He said, 'In some places, the roads have not yet been repaired due to floods and landslides. Landslide removal is being done in some places.' According to the
department, the Galchi, Trishuli-Meilung-Syapubeshi-Rasuwagadhi road section is still completely blocked due to the bursting of Himtal on June 24 and the flood from China. Likewise, due to the increasing flow of water in the Paima River in Humla, the southern section of the Karnali Corridor is also completely blocked.
It is mentioned in the statistics of the department that the North-South Koshi highway has also been completely blocked due to the increasing flow of water and the construction of the bridge. The Department informed that the Chatura-Mulghat-Majhitar-Amarapur Danda-Ganeshchowk road section of the Tamor Corridor was blocked due to Belibridge flooding on 6th July.
The Thori-Rasuwagadhi road in Tatopani-Timurey has also been completely blocked and the landslide removal work is currently underway, the department says. According to the department, Chhinchu-Marim road section under Bheri Corridor of West Rukum has also been completely blocked and landslide removal is underway.
'Rolpa's Martyr Highway is also completely metaphorically blocked. As the landslides are falling after continuous rains, the landslide removal work will be done only after the rains stop,' the statistics of the department states, 'Even the Surkhet-Talo Dugeshwar-Jumla road section of Dailekh is continuously falling due to dry landslides. Similarly, the road section at Sindhupalchowk of Arani Highway has been completely blocked.'
