Four teenagers who went to celebrate a friend's birthday in Kailali drowned in the Khutia river. Godavari Municipality-9, near Sahari Jholunge Bridge, they died while taking a bath on Thursday afternoon.

According to DSP Ran Bahadur Chand of Malakheti area police office, the deceased are 17-year-old Saksham Joshi, 16-year-old Jev Bhandari, 17-year-old Jabez Bhandari and 15-year-old Prateek Chaudhary of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-4.

According to him, the teenagers went missing at 12:30 in the afternoon and their bodies were found at 4:30 in the afternoon during a search in collaboration with local residents, police and armed police.

17-year-old Navin Dadal, 17-year-old Yuvraj Kuvar and 17-year-old Akash Mall who went with them are safe. Three of the deceased were studying in Valmiki International School and one in Galaxy School in class 11, police said. Locals are in mourning after the incident.
