Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the issue of China-India bilateral trade agreement through Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani areas east of Mahakali River should not be made a matter of domestic politics.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, General Minister Thapa said that the agreement reached between India and China would not be acceptable without the participation of Nepal and said that there was no need to show fierce nationalism on this issue. In this matter, all the political parties of Nepal should stand together and give an acceptable message that they should keep their eyes on our land. 

All the political parties of Nepal should come together and stand on this matter. We stood up yesterday, we must stand up today. On behalf of the Nepali Congress, I would also like to request all the parties, our differences and competition are in their place. Let none of us make this issue a matter of domestic politics. Let us not go towards becoming extremists. Nepali political parties should give the same message to both India and China on this issue - that we do not accept anyone to turn their eyes on our land. Nepal counters this. We have to make such a position," said Chief Minister Thapa.
