The International Relations and Tourism Committee under the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament has instructed the government to form a high-level judicial inquiry commission under the coordination of a former judge of the Supreme Court based on the incidents that have happened in the last 5 years regarding the damage caused by air accidents in Nepal.
Rajkishore Yadav, chairman of the committee, said that the government has been instructed to make the legal arrangements related to air and aviation safety effective. The 55th meeting of the committee gave two directives based on the discussions held in the meeting with the participation of tourism minister, tourism secretary and other high officials and legal experts.
In another directive, the government and the Ministry of Tourism have been asked to make the legal arrangements related to air safety consistent with national and international laws and policy arrangements. For this, the committee has directed to bring more provisions in coordination between the ministry and related agencies.
