Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized on speeding up good governance, development and prosperity by using information technology.

Addressing the International Information Technology Youth Conference 2025 organized by the National Youth Association of Nepal today, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of the CPN-UML, said that the use of information technology is mandatory to fulfill the national aspirations of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali.

He said that during his tenure as the first Prime Minister, he had prepared the framework of Digital Nepal to make the entire country technology-friendly and now it is being implemented.

He also reminded that companies can be opened abroad in the field of information and technology by staying in Nepal through an amendment to the law. We should use information technology to make our country, society and the entire human race more advanced and sophisticated. I urge you to get support for development, social harmony and innovation by using it to maintain good governance and control corruption,' he said, 'we have improved the results by 14 percent through online classes in last year's SEE. Similarly, we have been using information technology in health and other fields. We must be aware of the shortcomings and distortions caused by its misuse.'

Prime Minister Oli made it clear that the government is in favor of the press and expression and said that information that harms the society should not be disseminated.
