Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said that the party leaders and workers must press for the party's 15th convention. He asked the President Sher Bahadur Deuba to pressurize and raise his voice through daily social media for the convention.
In an interaction held by the Congress District Working Committee Solukhumbu today in Kathmandu on Nepali 'Indispensability, consensus, cooperation and unity within the Congress, today's need', leader Koirala said that if the Congress is weak, democracy will be weak and it will have a direct impact on the country, so the convention should not be delayed.
He said, "We are in the midst of a convention. If the convention is not held as soon as possible, the Congress will become weak. Therefore, everyone should start writing on social media every day that the convention should be held on time, increase the pressure."
Leader Koirala objected to the fact that talk of holding a convention only after 2084 was heard within the party and made it clear that the party cannot run that way. In addition, he alleged that the disciplinary committee of the party was under factional influence and did not even recognize the 'note of dissent'.
Koirala mentioned that consensus, cooperation and organizational unity within the party is essential and emphasized that it should start from the chairman. He said that the 15th Congress should be held on time to make the Congress united.
