Lamichhane will be kept in a separate cell in Nakhkhu Jail

Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the National Independent Party, who is in custody in Rupandehi District Jail in the co-operative fraud case, is being transferred to Nakhkhu Jail and is being kept in a separate room.

According to prison sources, Lamichhane is about to be brought to Nakhkhu prison in Lalitpur after three o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday.

Nakhkhu prison has also arranged a separate room for Lamichhane. "For today, we are preparing to keep him in a separate room in the political block," said Bhimraj Niraula, administrator of Nakhkhu prison, "there will be no such separate arrangement for him." He will be kept in any other way. Today we will keep it in a separate room. After that, the rest will be managed.'

Lamichhane had submitted an application last May, demanding the transfer of the prison. The court also gave permission for the prison transfer. According to his request, the prison was kept in Bhairahawa without being transferred.

Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission Dr. Lily Thapa inspected the prison last week. At that time, Lamichhane, who is in Block No. 4 of Rupandehi District Jail in Bhairahawa, expressed his grief that he was not transferred to the jail even though the court had granted permission.
