After the government set the date for the by-election in Rupandehi-3, the parties are doing political activities even in the mid-term. Congress, UML, Maoist Center, National Independent Party, United Socialists and other parties have reached the grassroots level and started election activities.

The government has fixed the date of by-election in Rupandehi-3 on November 17. Both the ruling UML and the Congress have made this by-election a matter of prestige, while the National Independent Party has started the candidate selection process to counter the UML-Congress.

Maoist and United Socialists have not decided whether to field a single or joint candidate in Rupandehi-3. Besides, the parties have continued their convention, political campaigns and meetings of fraternal organizations in the absence of rain. Congress has planned a program keeping in mind the Rupandehi-3 by-election.
