What you should know

Nepali Congress MP NP Saud has requested the government to immediately implement the recommendations made by the commissions formed at different times and solve the problem of the reservation victims of Kanchanpur.

Speaking during the emergency session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he demanded the immediate implementation of the recommendations of the commissions formed to solve the problems of the detainees in the home district of Kanchanpur.

'At present, the detainees are on a hunger strike. "The government should immediately implement the recommendations of the commission that it has formed with regard to the education and health of the victims and their children who have been living in the forest for decades due to the reservation problem," Saud said.

So far, the state has formed various political, administrative and quasi-judicial commissions by spending crores to solve the problems of the victims of Shuklaphanta National Park and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.

'34 commission has become. Billions have been spent. All commissions recommend decisions almost unanimously. The problem of reservation victims is real, said Saud, "Land compensation should be provided to reservation victims who are squatters due to the extension of reservation." If the land cannot be provided, all the commissions have recommended that financial support should also be provided.'

During the tenure of former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, the quasi-judicial commission formed by the then Forest Minister Mahesh Acharya determined certain criteria and determined the number of possible victims and also determined the amount to provide financial compensation to those who did not reach.

"The government has been ignoring the complaints of the victims that the compensation is low and the recommendations of all the commissions that it has formed to provide land and compensation," said Saud, who is also a former foreign minister.
