The Supreme Court has ordered the registration of a petition filed by the victims to cancel the appointment process of the officials of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry into Disappeared Persons.

Earlier, the Supreme Administration had rejected (refused to register) the said writ. Hearing the petition filed by the victims against it, the bench of Judge Shrestha on Tuesday canceled the bench order against the writ. If the bench's order is annulled, the legal impediment to registration of the previously rejected writ will be removed.

334 conflict victims filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the recent appointments made by the government in both commissions should be canceled as they are against the provisions of the constitution and the law. However, the Supreme Court ruled that the constitutional question and the appointment could not be registered.

The victims filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the bench's order saying that the supreme administration has deprived them of the right to exercise their judicial rights based on political favors and tricks. While hearing about it, the Supreme Court canceled the order of the bench saying that the right of the victims to file a writ cannot be curtailed.

Without consulting them, the victims filed a petition asking that the appointment should be annulled, saying that the parties had appointed commissioners in both commissions by allocating quotas among their own people.
