In the Karnali Bikas Bank scam case, which has its central office in Nepalganj, the High Court Tulsipur Nepalgunj bench has ordered the detention of three persons including the founder chairman of the bank for preliminary incarceration.

The bench of Judges Chandra Bahadur Saru and Punamsingh Chand passed the order on Wednesday after hearing the money scam case against four defendants including the former chairman of the bank. A total of 109 people were made defendants in the embezzlement case of 3 billion 20 crores of the bank.

103 of them are still absconding. Out of the four defendants, including the two former chairman of the board of directors, who were arrested at different times, on July 14, the CIB in its investigation report pleaded guilty to financial irregularities and submitted it to the district attorney's office. 

CIB collected Rs 3 billion 20 million 11 lakh 54 thousand from 109 people including the bank's founder chairman Rajendraveer Rai  157 It was suggested that a case should be filed claiming the wrong demand. Pashupati Dayal Mishra, the former chairman of Karnali Bikas Bank, who is also a central member of CPN-UML, was asked to pay a fine of Rs 82 crore 46 lakh 29 thousand and a fine. Ved Prakash Singh Thakuri, the then head of the finance department of the bank, was demanded Rs 24 crore 63 lakh 99 thousand and fine.
