The government has decided to set the terms of service and other facilities for the chairman and members of the Investigation Commission for Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. This decision was taken by the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 18th of July.
Another decision of the government is to promote joint secretaries Nirmala Adhikari Bhattarai (currently permanent secretary, Truth and Reconciliation Commission) and Indira Dahal Bhattarai to the post of special category secretary under the gazette of Nepal Justice Service and post them as secretary of Truth and Reconciliation Commission and secretary of Nepal Law Commission respectively.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung announced the decisions of the Council of Ministers through a press conference on Tuesday. At the same time, according to the project development agreement between the developer company and the Government of Nepal (Investment Board) for the development of Arun-3 hydropower operation, the government has decided to form a Project Review Panel (PRP) consisting of Dr. Pawan Kumar Shrestha, Dr. Pawan Kumar Bhattarai and Dr. Ganesh Prasad Neupane as subject matter experts, to approve the PRP Agreement and to grant the authority to the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board to sign the PRP Agreement on behalf of the Government of Nepal.
Similarly, the government has decided to grant income tax exemption for the income year 2082/83 from the MCA (including contribution from Nepal) by registering a branch or registered as a permanent establishment in Nepal according to sub-section 910 of section 18 of the Economic Act, 2082 and publishing the information on the exemption in the Nepal Gazette.
The Corporation has approved the implementation letter of Article 3.5 Implementation Mechanisms to Implement Tax Examination of MCC Funding signed on September 14, 2017.
