The Department of Water and Meteorology has requested to be on high alert as there will be a risk of flooding in six rivers of the country till Wednesday.

The department has predicted that the water level will rise in rivers including East Rapti, Bagmati, Mahakali, Karnali, Bheri and West Seti.

Department's flood expert Vinod Parajuli informed that although the water level in the Babai river had crossed the danger level around noon today, the water level of the river has decreased since 3 pm.  .

'The warning level of 5.5 meters and the danger level of 6.8 meters are measured in the Babai River. However, it reached 7.1 meters by noon today. Now the water level has decreased to 6.62," he said. "Today, the flow of small rivers flowing in Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, Dang, Banke, Chitwan, Kailali, Kanchanpur and surrounding districts will increase significantly and there is a high risk of sudden floods, so it is necessary to be cautious."

According to flood expert Parajuli, warnings are being issued in areas with high risk of flooding.
