Meteorologist Shanti Kandel of the Department of Water and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division informed that as the low pressure line has moved northwards from tomorrow, it is likely to rain in the Terai as well. According to him, in addition to the influence of monsoon air across the country, the low pressure line of monsoon is located a little north of Sardar place.
Weather forecaster Kandel said that rain activity will increase for the next three days as the rain system is active. He informed that light to moderate rains are currently occurring in a few places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces. The division has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces during the night.
As the monsoon is expected to become more active across the country including Madhesh province in the next few days, the division has issued a public request to the general public and all concerned bodies to get information about the latest weather information through a bulletin this evening.
Weather forecaster Kandel said that it has been generally cloudy since Sunday night in the Terai region and there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning in most places. According to him, due to the possibility of heavy rain in some places of Koshi, Sudurpaschim and Lumbini regions on Sunday, necessary precautions have been requested. Heavy rain is expected to occur in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces on Monday.
In the last 6 hours, 82.8 mm of rain has fallen in Gobre of Sindhupalchok. Similarly, 72.5 mm of rain has fallen in Arghakhanchi and 72.2 mm in Padampur of Dang. The division has reported light to moderate rain in most other places.
