Gombu Sherpa, Member of Parliament of Koshi State Assembly, is now known as 'Gitange Honorable' in Parliament. Member of Parliament from Solukhumbu 1(1) Sherpa was elected from the Maoist Center.

He does not only question the power in favor of public sentiment in the parliament, he often sings songs in original songs. "Unsatisfied with the activities of the government, I hummed a line song," MP Sherpa said, "My voice is not good, but the rhythm is fine." Sometimes, using the zero time, they speak in favor of the people and their cause. But his style is not 'paper' like other MPs. He makes his point through song.

in a sort of folksong style, in the form of an MP. In Tuesday's state assembly meeting, Sherpa protested the unannounced loadshedding through a song -

Why are you burying your mouth in the gutter? This presentation style of

Sherpa is becoming applaudable even in the House. It has also made the ruling party uncomfortable. His songs resonate with facts and people's pain along with satire.

During the visit visa scandal involving the federal government's home minister, Ramesh Akhtar, Sherpa protested through a song in the state assembly meeting on May 23.

Visiting visa, Mr. Visiting visa,

Leaving the ground, Mr. West direction,

His speech with this song became 'viral' in the form of a video clip. Millions of viewers watched, shared on social media. In subsequent parliamentary speeches, he has been continuing the style of song and speech.

That's why many MPs have even started mocking him as 'Gitange honorable'. When he stands up to speak, some dignitaries say, 'Now, what song will the honorable Gombu recite today?

On the 7th of June, when the discussion on the budget was going on, he again expressed his displeasure through a song. He satirized the protest of Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki and Tourism Minister Sadanand Mandal taking unnecessary budget in their constituencies. It was Sherpa's allegation that Chief Minister Karki had repeatedly allocated 11 crores in a pond in Gauradah.

On that basis, he recited a famous folk verse during his speech -

Our love sat in the market of Gauradah

How will we forget, my mind is blown away

My mind is blown away....

After hearing this song of his, the MPs from the ruling party and the opposition laughed out loud.

His sarcasm was straightforward, he claimed that it was wrong to pour the budget in the name of development depending on political access. He had the details of Rs 11 crore spent on a pond in Gauradah within three financial years. He also added the fact that the chairman of that pond protection committee is Deepak Karki, a member of the Constituent Assembly and the brother of Chief Minister Karki.

Sherpa's style is clear, he speaks not by writing but by singing. He brings songs to the speech and turns the voice of the people in the parliament into the voice of a song. His songs speak out against inequality of power, suffering of poor people and misuse of political access. His 'resistance through song' has now become a distinctive scene of the Koshi state assembly. Probably Sherpa is becoming recognized as a rare character in the parliamentary history of Nepal who sings and addresses the parliament.

Sherpa used to hum songs from school days. In 2053, Sherpa Emalenikat joined Aneraswawiyu. Became a Maoist after 2058. Maoist's "whole timer" he even stayed in jail for 11 months in 2059.

Solukhumbu State Assembly Constituency No. 1 (1) Elected Sherpas are locally known by the nickname 'Kurjyang'. In the 2079 election, Sherpa confirmed his popularity by defeating CPN UML candidate and former state minister Uttam Kumar Basnet by a margin of 1,637 votes.

Sherpa, who got involved in politics after giving up the opportunity to climb the mountains for free, says, 'Our politics is becoming sad. We have to make it pure.'' These songs he sang in the cold melting pot of politics are no longer just voices of protest, they are resonating as tunes of hope.
