The seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Border Working Group (BWG-Boundary Working Group) was held in New Delhi on Tuesday after approving the 3-year action plan for the necessary technical works to be done in the border area (Dashgaja). Since the bilateral meeting could not be held, the technical works to be done in the border area were stopped for the last 6 years.
The meeting was held for two days on Monday and Tuesday at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan in Delhi. In the BWG meeting, Prakash Joshi, Director General of Surveying Department from Nepal and Hitesh Kumar, Head of Surveying Department from India, led the meeting. The meeting was represented by the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armed Police Force, SSB and others. At the
meeting, Chief Joshi approved the 3-year action plan and said that the meeting was completed amicably. "According to the action plan, the field work will be carried forward from this year," he said. The Survey Officials Committee (SOC) consisting of officers from both countries is responsible for implementing the decisions taken by the BWG in the field. It has also been agreed to hold the SOC meeting in Kathmandu and continue the field work.
