Health Minister's directive to manage supply immediately so that there is no shortage

The Department of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Population has supplied vaccines against rabies and drugs used in the treatment of snakebite to all seven provinces of the country.
Dr. Pawanjung Rayamazhi, the head of the management division under the department informed that the medicines which are already being purchased and supplied have reached the supply centers to be distributed to the health institutions of the provincial governments.
Soon after the news of the shortage of vaccines and drugs used in the treatment of rabies and snakebite, Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel took interest and instructed the subordinate officials to manage the supply immediately so that there is no shortage.
He instructed the concerned authorities to take all necessary measures to increase the supply situation and prevent shortages in the future. Accordingly, the Department of Health Services has supplied both types of medicine to all provinces. According to the statistics of the
department, 51,180 vials of vaccine used against rabies have reached the province supply centers. Most of the supplies are in Bagmati province.
In Bagmati, 10 thousand 80 vials of rabies vaccine have been supplied and 1000 vials of snakebite venom have been supplied. Similarly, in Madhes province, where there are more problems of snakebites, the most 2500 vials of venom against snakebite and about 5000 vials of vaccine against rabies have been supplied.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said that vaccines and venom have been supplied to other provinces based on demand. In addition to the current supply, the department has made arrangements to supply four times the current supply within two months.
