According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, rice has been planted in 78.84 percent of the area where rice is planted till Sunday.

Planting has been completed in 80.39% of Koshi province, 51.82% in Madhesh, 87.19% in Bagmati and 8.53% in Gandaki province. According to the ministry, 92.04 percent of the land in Lumbini province, 91.38 percent in Karnali and 98.94 percent of the land in Sudurpaschim province have been planted.

Last year till July 13, 92.6 percent of the land was planted. Due to lack of rain in some areas including Madhesh province this year, planting has been done in less areas compared to last year.
