Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that artificial intelligence (AI) is not only a dream of the future but a necessity of the present.

In a program on 'Artificial Intelligence Comprehensive Analysis for Nepal's Development' organized by the Science and Information Technology Department of the Nepali Congress at the party's central office, he said that information technology is playing a significant role in serving the people in a fast, easy and transparent manner. 

President Deuba said, 'Today's age is the age of science and technology, AI is not just a dream of the future, it is a need of the present. We need to use it responsibly and effectively in education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, employment and public service delivery.'

He mentioned that all technology-friendly schemes such as internet access at home, mobile banking, online forms, digital health services and digital education are making people's lifestyle simple, inclusive and respectful. "The policies, laws and regulations related to telecommunications issued under the leadership of the Congress-led government have brought technology to the remote settlements and all citizens of Nepal today. There is still a lot of work to be done in the field of technology, there is no doubt that the system of providing banking services, government information, agricultural consultation or health advice in one click is the result of this liberal and forward-looking policy, said President Deuba.

He said that the Congress has always stood in favor of social transformation through innovation and technology, and said that the party is committed to increasing economic activity through information technology. Former Prime Minister Deuba also informed that the party is active in promoting the creativity of young entrepreneurs, researchers and the private sector as a whole, making achievement-focused technology policy with the people at the center.
