A cyclist died in a road accident this morning at Damak-4 tea plantation in Jhapa.

The accident took place when a passenger bus number 1-01-001 B 4363 coming from Urlabari towards Damak hit the cyclist who was going from Damak to Tarabari on the east-west highway. Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka informed that 60-year-old Som Bahadur Vick of Damak-4 Gharghar, a cyclist, died in the accident.

Vic, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at Damak Hospital. The police said that the bus involved in the accident and the 47-year-old bus driver Rajendra Gautam of Makwanpur Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-7 have been detained by the police and are being investigated.
