Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the renewal of her party membership in UML was brought about in the same dispute. Addressing a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday, former President Bhandari said that the matter, which had already been renewed, has now been brought into controversy.

"Since the party membership has been renewed, there is no reason to dispute it," she said. Although UML will not allow the party to return to politics, former president Bidya Devi Bhandari will continue the political campaign.

The UML Central Committee decided to block Bhandari's return on Tuesday midnight with the argument that 'the return of a person who has reached a high constitutional position such as the constitutional president, vice president, to return to party politics is not in accordance with the spirit of the constitution, it raises questions about the constitutionality and fairness of the work done while holding the office, weakens democratic values and makes the respected personality of the person himself controversial' .

After Bhandari said that he renewed his membership in 2080, a controversy has arisen within the party . The argument of the founding party is that the membership cannot be renewed if the membership is abandoned after the election of the president.
