Four ministers of Bagmati province have resigned. The Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Suraj Chandra Lamichhane, Minister of Youth and Sports Minkrishna Maharjan, Minister of Culture and Tourism Bimal Thakuri and Minister of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Madukumar Shrestha of the Bagmati State Government have resigned.

All the four ministers who resigned are MPs elected from the Congress. Madukumar Shrestha, one of those who resigned, said that they resigned to change the leader of the parliamentary party in the state. In a brief conversation with

Ikantipur, he said, "We are against Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama". We have resigned to make Indra Bahadur Baniyan the leader of the parliamentary party.' He also claimed that he had resigned as per the previous agreement to reshuffle the government after 1 year.   'We are in the government led by Bahadur Singh Lama.' However, Indra Bahadur Baniyan is trying to become the leader of the party by moving a motion of no confidence against Lama. We are on his side . That's why we have resigned,' he said.

Congress MPs have started the process for the process of appointing a new Chief Minister by removing Lama as the leader of the parliamentary party . For this, it has been reported that 24 people in the Congress parliamentary party, which has 37 MPs, have also signed.
