Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that she will not stop now as she has entered active politics. While most of the members of the UML central committee are arguing that the former president should not join politics, she said that she will not stop joining politics.
I have moved on. There is no stopping now," she said while talking to reporters at her residence in Bhangla on Tuesday, "I have renewed my membership. Didn't ask for any responsibility.'
A dozen of the 311 central members of the UML have supported former president Bhandari in the central committee meeting.
She said that there is no reason to stop her political movement, mentioning the fact that she did not gain a foothold when she started the movement in 2035/36 through student politics until 062/63.
In the beginning, she claimed that she did not want to be the president and accepted the position by concluding that she could serve the country and the people.
"I don't think that the party will stop me from joining politics," she said, saying that it was wrong not to allow her to speak in the Central Committee.
