Formation of a committee to solve the drinking water problem in Terai-Madhes

The Water Supply and Sewerage Management Department under the Ministry of Water Supply has formed two committees to solve the water supply problem in Terai-Madhes and started on-site monitoring.

The director general of the department, Engineer Ram Kumar Shrestha, informed that two separate committees have been formed under the coordination of Narayan Prasad Acharya, the project director of the Sahalgani drinking water and sanitation project, and Balamukund Shrestha, the deputy director general of the department. 

He said, 'We have formed a committee to solve the problem and mobilized it today. The committee will prepare a monitoring report within 10 days and submit it to the department. In the committee formed under the coordination of Project Director Acharya, Senior Division Engineer (CDE) of Sahalgani Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Mihirchandra Acharya, Engineer Kiran Bista of Janakpur Water Supply and Sewerage Management Office, and E Sudhir Kumar Sah of Central Water Supply Project of Water Supply and Sewerage Management Department have been assigned as member secretary.

Similarly, in the committee formed under the coordination of Deputy Director General Shrestha, Birgunj Water and Sewerage Management Office Head Vipul Kumar Lal Das, Engineer Pradeep Kumar Sah member and Senior Division Engineer (CDE) Chandrakumar of Water and Sewerage Management Department  According to the department, Shrestha has been appointed member secretary.

Both the committees have been asked to submit a report with the necessary suggestions to solve the water supply problem after carrying out on-site study, monitoring and analysis in the respective districts.
