A delegation led by Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China International Development Assistance Agency (CIDCA), had a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.
The Secretariat of the Prime Minister said that during the meeting at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, mutual relations between the two countries, the bilateral agreement reached on Monday at the Ministry of Finance and the implementation of the development cooperation agreements made earlier during the high-level visit between the two countries were discussed.
Prime Minister Oli discussed the long and friendly relationship between Nepal and China and reiterated that Nepal is committed to the one-China policy. Thanking the Chinese government for giving priority to the construction of the damaged physical structures at Rasuwagadhi border crossing between the two countries due to the recent sudden flood, he informed that the Nepali side has also given necessary attention. He emphasized that to make Nepal from a landlocked country to a landlocked one, the operation of the Kimathangka and other border crossings with China and the projects under the 'Belt and Road Initiative Framework' should proceed without obstacles.
The delegation had a discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnuprasad Paudel about the project being conducted with the help of the Chinese government and which will be conducted in the coming days.
On that occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed regarding the project related to 'Bone Marrow Transplantation' and the feasibility study for expanding the civil servant hospital at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
Similarly, a Memorandum of Understanding on Human Resource Development and a 'Minute' on the Feasibility Study of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung International Power Transmission Line construction was also signed between the two countries.
