More than 2300 disaster incidents in three months

One hundred and two people have lost their lives in 2 thousand 326 disaster-related incidents in different areas of the country from May 1st to this July 5th.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 20 people are still missing due to the disaster. A total of 512 people were injured and 4,323 families were affected, informed Suresh Sunar, spokesperson and deputy secretary of the authority.

According to him, people's wealth has been lost in this way due to various types of disasters including the monsoon disaster. 13 people died and 20 people went missing in 151 incidents of floods alone. He said that most of these were damaged by the Rasuwa flood. 

Similarly, nine people died in 207 incidents of landslides and two people died in 113 incidents of heavy rain. 28 out of 229 cases of lightning, 5 out of 63 cases of snakebite, 14 out of 976 cases of fire have died.

Similarly, eight people died in 273 cases of hurricanes, 12 in 121 cases of animal attacks, and 11 in 36 cases of lake-related deaths, he said. Among others, there were 158 fire incidents, four earthquake incidents, two boat overturning incidents, and two hail incidents, but there were no human casualties, according to the authority.

1 thousand 254 houses have been affected by the most flood from that incident. Similarly, two 41 families were affected by landslides, 547 by heavy rains, 264 by lightning, 70 by snake bites and 1,899 by fire, the authority informed. According to the details of the authority, 27 families were affected by fire, 531 by storm, 186 by animal attack, 32 by lake, 5 by overturned boat, and 77 by hail and storm.
