UML Propaganda Department Head Rajendra Gautam has claimed that membership renewal of former President Vidya Bhandari is pending. Mentioning that articles 8 and 9 of the party constitution have been drawn on the issue of renewal of membership, he said that there will be further discussion on this.

"The renewal of the former president's membership is pending," he said, "it has been decided to discuss it further." Although Bhandari said he renewed his membership in 2080, a dispute has arisen within the party.

The establishment side argues that the membership cannot be renewed if the membership is abandoned after the election of the president. They said that the organization department should decide to get new members. Bhandari side said that the old membership has been renewed.
