Even after 25 years of the declaration of liberation, the freed Kamaiya families of Kanchanpur are still struggling to survive as the government is unable to implement the commitments made.

According to the declaration made two and a half decades ago, the dream of free earning is incomplete because of the lack of secure housing, free education, health care and employment. On July 2, 2057, the government of that time declared 'Mukt' by ending the Kamaiya system, but that announcement did not become a real change in life for many. Muktakamaiya Agua says that it is only a series of assurances.

According to Jagarnath Chowdhury, the central vice president of Mukt Kamaiya Samaj, the government's commitment has only been partially implemented. The government waived loans and provided land to some, but even that is not enough,' he says, 'The land given for rehabilitation is affected by river erosion, terror of wild animals and it is difficult to earn a living because it is far from the market.'

Some families have become landless again due to river erosion, while some are forced to live in fear of wild animals after being resettled near the forest area.

'There is no right of full ownership in the land given by the government,' he said, 'Unless the owner of the land certificate is maintained, a loan cannot be taken by placing a mortgage in the bank, the land in the name of the husband can be transferred to the name of the wife, but it cannot be transferred to the name of the son, the government should remove this obstacle.'

On the occasion of the 25th Mukti Diwas today, Chaudhary said that the announcement by the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, to conduct income generation programs along with the restoration of freed workers, and to proceed with the restoration process by collecting new taxes, said that Chaudhary has said that he has taken it positively.

According to Ram Prasad Rana, a free-lance leader, the Labor Act of 2058 and its regulations have not yet been implemented. "Some have received Lalpurja, but due to local obstacles, they have not been able to recognize the land and enjoy the customs," he says.  Chhanga Rana, the leader of the

Bani camp, said that even though there are traditional skills in free-lancers, there is no policy to bring them into modern training and commercial use.  'Employment and self-reliance are possible if skill-based micro-enterprises are established,' he said. Most of them are forced to stay awake till dawn by doing free labor.'  Bedkot Municipality-6 Laptan Chaudhary of Ojha says that there is some improvement now compared to before. Some began to earn income from professions such as carpenters, carpenters and drivers. He said no. According to his

, 12 children of the slum have passed the 12th standard, but their education up to the graduation level has not been possible due to financial reasons. In Kanchanpur, in the years 2057 and 2059, 3 thousand 45 and 1 thousand 461 respectively, a total of 4 thousand 500 six free workers have received identity cards.

Even though the government announced the completion of rehabilitation in 2066, 129 people are still without rehabilitation. Although some of them have got red parts, they have not been able to use the land due to local obstacles, while some have not even seen their own land.
