Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that an average of 7 people die every day due to road accidents.
He said that the number of people who die in vehicle accidents has reached 7 people every day due to not taking precautions while driving a vehicle, driving a vehicle without a license and so on.
In the Friday meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly, the minister gave this information. He said that traffic accidents, drugs and suicides have emerged as security challenges. "The traffic accident has emerged as a challenge". These days, on an average, seven people are dying in road accidents every day,' said the Home Minister, 'controlling it has become another important challenge.'
Chief of Nepal Police Deepak Thapa informed that 2 thousand 549 people died due to vehicle accidents in fiscal year 2081/082. He informed that Madhes province has the highest number of deaths due to road accidents and Karnali province has the lowest. Thapa informed that accidents have increased due to driving without a driver's license, driving under the influence of drugs, not taking prior warning while driving, and driving without wearing a helmet.
