After the flood of Lhende river washed away Miteri bridge on last June 24, the Nepalis stranded in Kerung are going to be returned home via an alternative route.
According to Arjun Paudel, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, a request has been made to the Chinese government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrange for the return of 1,200 stranded people.
The food and accommodation of the Nepalis in Kerung has been arranged by the Chinese side. Among those stranded, there are 91 people including drivers and co-drivers of cargo vehicles. 117 people who were there in connection with the work also requested the chief district officer for arrangements to return home.
