Dharahara will now operate from 8 am to 8 pm. The opening period of Dharahara will be extended from 1st of July.

Narayan Mainali, spokesperson of the Ministry, said that even on public holidays, people can now climb the tower.

Dharahara is now open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. If it is closed on a public holiday given by the government, the Dharahara will be closed on Wednesday instead of the weekly holiday given on Saturday. . Now we are operating Dharahara in two shifts from 8 am to 8 pm. Public holidays will also be open for those who want to visit Dharahara," said Ministry spokesperson Mainali.

Dharahara was opened to the general public with a fee from last November 9. Common citizens have been complaining about the short opening hours of the Dharara and suggested not to close it on public holidays .

After Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh asked to prepare according to the wishes of the citizens to increase the period of operation of Dharahara while paying attention to the suggestions of the citizens, the ministry is going to operate in two shifts accordingly. 

According to the Central Project Implementation Unit (Building and Housing) under the Ministry of Urban Development, 43,33,93,650 rupees of revenue was collected from the sale of tickets during the period of seven months of paid operation after the reconstruction of the earthquake-damaged tower.  In the Ministry from July 1  Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) is going to be implemented .  Secretary Gopal Sigdel said that after this system is fully implemented, the government activities under the ministry will be paperless and unnecessary paper hassles will be removed. The Secretary of the Ministry, Sigdel informed that GIOMS is partially implemented now, but it will be fully implemented from July 1st. "We are going to implement the Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) to make government operations paperless," Secretary Sigdel said, "Now, inter-ministerial files and letters, file exchanges between ministries and departments will be paperless."   The ministry has brought back the vehicles of the ministry that were used unauthorizedly. The Ministry has informed that from July 1, only those who meet the standards of the Nepal government will be given vehicle facilities. Unauthorized vehicles have been brought back after the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Singh after it was found that the vehicle was not received because it was due and the vehicle was used because it did not meet the standards.
