Former Prime Minister and leader of the United Socialist Party Jhalnath Khanal has said that the state has committed excesses against the chairman of the National Independent Party, Ravi Lamichhane.
He said this while talking to media persons after returning home after visiting China on Saturday. He also said that he cannot say that Lamichhane did not make mistakes and weaknesses. 'However, the state is doing too much in the name of this or that mistake against Lamichhane,' he said.
'I also think that how can I confirm that Ravi Lamichhane has not made any mistakes or weaknesses. But I also feel that the state is doing too much in the name of this or that mistake on Ravi Lamichhane," said former Prime Minister Khanal.
Lamichhane is now in prison after the court ordered him to be sent to prison in the cooperative fraud case.
