Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed the relevant authorities to change the situation in which development projects are not completed on time and cost more than expected and the people will suffer.
In the 54th meeting of the National Development Problem Solving Committee held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singhdarbar, the chairman of the committee and Prime Minister Oli asked to identify the problem of not being able to accelerate as much as expected and to come up with a clear action plan.
Prime Minister Oli expressed concern that despite the construction of the Sunkoshi Marine Diversion Project tunnel, the contract for the rest of the work could not be awarded on time and said that results and production cannot be given on time due to such a trend. "There is a policy of subsidizing fertilizer to the people, but fertilizer is not available on time." Let's not confuse people like this. Instead, let's reduce the subsidy, let's increase the supply,' was the question of Prime Minister Oli, 'We have to develop the country at a faster pace.' It has also been seen that a project started with a cost estimate of 12 billion will cost up to 52 billion. How did this situation come about? To punish those who are so negligent or not?'
Prime Minister Oli insisted on taking another way if there is no work from the contracted contractor or framework and said that development and construction cannot be completed at this speed. For changes in the way of work, he asked to adopt an agile style. Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, State Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries and Secretaries participated in the
meeting. In the meeting, the causes of development problems related to various ministries and solutions were discussed. In the
meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Prada Shivraj Adhikari, gave information about the state and trend of the macroeconomic index, the state of public finance mobilization of the Government of Nepal, the current state of social and infrastructure development, the latest state of sustainable development goals and breastfeeding in developing countries, the progress state of projects of national pride and first priority projects, the state of macroeconomic state of the provinces, and the status of implementation of the decisions of the previous meetings of the committee.
