Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Sita Mizar has said that the government has not made adequate preparations for quick rescue and relief to the victims of disasters such as possible floods and landslides during the rainy season.
In the meeting of the House of Representatives today, MP Mizar drew the attention of the government to search for the missing persons immediately and to make the rescue, relief and rehabilitation work effective, saying that the flood caused damage in Bhotekoshi located on the Nepal-China border in Rasuwa.
'The Miteri bridge connecting Nepal-China was completely washed away and the traffic between the two countries was blocked and 18 people, including Nepali and Chinese nationals, including the policemen who were assigned to provide security, were missing, the Timure Customs and Hydropower Project were also damaged to a large extent along with physical infrastructure, and the general public and the security personnel involved in the rescue were at risk themselves,' she said .
He said that it was serious negligence for the chief officials of Nuwakot and Rasuwa to stay outside the district at the time of disaster.
Similarly, she expressed her gratitude for the safe rescue of a woman and a man trapped in the Trishuli river in Nuwakot's Bidur municipality-1 by an army helicopter.
