The political aftershocks after Far West Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah sacked Rameshwar Choudhary, who was the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, from the ruling party, the Civil Liberation Party (Naupa), has reached the Union government. Naupa, which is supporting the Union and State Governments, has already withdrawn the vote of confidence from the Union and State Governments.

Naupa has gone to the opposition bench. As a result of NAUPA's latest move, Prime Minister Oli and Far Paschim Chief Minister Shah have to take a vote of confidence in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.

A meeting was held between Prime Minister Oli and Naupa's patron Resham Chowdhury on Monday after a level of political upheaval began. Earlier on Sunday, he went to meet Chief Minister Shah Chaudhary at his home in Bardia and had a two-hour conversation. But Naupa, which has withdrawn its support from all sides, has not shown any willingness to be flexible until Monday afternoon.

The latest situation has arisen in the background of a long-standing power struggle between Naupa president Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary and patron Resham Chaudhary. There is a question whether the conflict between the Resham-Ranjita couple within Naupa is responsible for the current situation, or whether the Chief Minister of the Far West, Shah, is solely responsible for the dismissal of the minister. But this case has caused waves even to the state and federal government.

According to a source close to Chief Minister Shah, before dismissing Minister Chaudhary, Chairman Shrestha Chaudhary and Patron Chaudhary both agreed to the Chief Minister to remove him . But later both the ministers stood against the sacking.

Chief Minister Shah was angry with Minister Chaudhary for not maintaining financial discipline during the budget formulation (selling the plan) and not even giving information when appointing executive director in Khaptad Tourism Zone Development and Management Committee.

According to one of the central members of Naupa, even now Resham-Ranjita is not in agreement about withdrawing support from the government. After a new situation was created due to a dispute within the party, only a bid was agreed between them . Speaker Ranjita had already tried to stop patron silk-friendly MP Rameshwar Chaudhary from becoming a minister.

She had sent a written instruction to the parliamentary party and a letter of recommendation to the Chief Minister to decide to send her favored MP Kailash Chaudhary as a minister. But since the chairman Shrestha Chaudhary was in the minority in the parliamentary party, the meeting of the parliamentary party decided to recommend Rameshwar, the MP chosen by the patron Chaudhary, as the minister.

Ranjita was unhappy ever since. According to that central member, Arun Chaudhary was also appointed as the state minister in the union government as per Resham's wish. He was not only the Minister of State, Ranjita Shrestha Chowdhury also had to lose the position of the leader of the parliamentary party after Arun, who was in Ranjita's side in the past, turned in on 17 June 2018. Party leader Ranjita was left alone after MP Arun turned away.

The three MPs of Naupa, which has four MPs, joined forces to remove Ranjita, MP Gangaram Chaudhary Dagoura was elected party leader . Arun, who had wanted to be a minister before that, was not in a position to become a minister, so he turned in with Resham's assurance.

The series of ongoing struggles with Patron Chaudhary became more intense after that. President Ranjita was further irritated with patron Resham . "Even now, when it seems that Resham-Ranjita's bid is agreed, there is no way when they will make a difference," another leader of Naupa said, "The latest developments are not understandable." Naupa, who initially lost the Deputy Speaker due to confusion, had to lose the chance of becoming the Chief Minister in the meantime due to Resham-Ranjita conflict. After the collapse of the government led by Kamal Bahadur Shah, there was an opportunity for NAUPA to get the Chief Minister in Far West from the alliance of UML, Maoist NAUPA and United Socialists. But two claims were submitted from Naupa.

Resham put forward Laxman Kishore Choudhary along with five MPs, while President Ranjita asked Kailash Choudhary, a close MP, to submit a claim for the post of Chief Minister. In that situation, the provincial chief Nazir Mian rejected both the claims and called to submit the claim again on 4 Baisakh 081. After the

, Ranjita was able to get the support of two parliamentarians and become the Chief Minister of the United Samajwadi Party. "It is not possible to predict what form the current agitation will take," said another leader of Naupa, "It may be the strategy of the Congress." UML's Rajendrasinh Rawal, who was appointed as the Chief Minister in the Far West in the first phase of the second term of the Provincial Assembly, was getting closer to the final deadline to take the vote of confidence. Naupa was not only a supporter but decisive for Rawal, who was appointed as the Chief Minister with the support of the RPP, civil emancipation, and Maoist Center.

Even though the three parties were together, there was a situation where the vote of confidence would not pass if Naupa did not cooperate. So Rawal had no other option but Naupa to get the vote of confidence . UML leaders thronged Kathmandu to celebrate Naupa. However, Naupa did not promise to give a vote of confidence.

The main condition of Naupa was the release of Resham Chaudhary, the guardian of the party who was in jail at that time. Also, on 19 January 2019, the police arrested Arun Chaudhary, a federal MP from Naupa, who has been on the court's absconding list for years. Naupa, who was seeking a faithful word from the Prime Minister for the release of protective silk, was further divided after the government arrested its MP.

In return, they paid the vote of confidence. When the vote of confidence was given to the Chief Minister of UML, Naupa MPs did not come to the Provincial Assembly meeting. That is why the UML-led Maoist, Naupa joint government fell within 30 days without getting a vote of confidence.

After the collapse of the UML government, Kamal Bahadur Shah, the leader of the Congress parliamentary party, the largest party in the provincial assembly, was appointed as the chief minister on 26th January 2019. In the meantime, the alliance changed at the central level. Congress, Maoists, Naupa and United Socialist government were formed in the Far West. Even now, many people do not believe that Chief Minister Shah could have decided to dismiss Naupa Minister Chowdhury without the approval of the Congress leadership.
