Congress is not ready for 2084 elections: Leader Saud

Congress leader NP Saud has said that the party is not ready for the elections scheduled to be held in 084. Speaking on Sunday at the Central Working Committee meeting held at Sanepa in Lalitpur, leader Saud has expressed serious concern about the overall situation of the party.

He warned that in the current political scenario, Congress is not able to play a sensitive and active role and the party organization is becoming weak. Saud said, "Attacks on political parties are increasing. It is an attempt to attack not only the parties, but the Constitution itself. In such a situation, the Nepali Congress should raise a clear voice.

He pointed to the upcoming 2084 election and said that the party is not ready from any angle. Looking at it, 084 has also come closer. But Congress is not ready for that. The distance with the non-Congress votes is also increasing, which is a sign that our votes are decreasing.

Saud also drew attention to the organizational weakness and said that the base level of the party is weak. "After the 14th Congress in Sarlahi, which I represented from the Central Working Committee, there has been no meeting till today. The convention is also incomplete," he said.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the discipline, factionalism and unequal behavior within the party, Saud said that unilateral action was taken in the name of discipline. Unilateral action on discipline only increases frustration. The standard of discipline should be applied equally to everyone, he said.

He also criticized that the KP Sharma Oli-led government, which got the status of two-thirds, delayed the process of amending the constitution according to the seven-point agreement. "After the formation of the two-thirds government, the discussion on the amendment of the constitution should have proceeded according to the consensus, but it has been delayed," he said.

Although the top leaders of Saud Party are moving around the country, they said that the Congress will not become strong until the organization is strong. He asked the leadership to give immediate attention to strengthening the organization and ending factionalism by updating the party in a timely manner.
