Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned to his country on Friday after participating in the United Nations 'Fourth International Conference on Finance for Development' held in Seville, Spain from June 16 to 19.
Prime Minister Oli was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal in the special room of Tribhuvan International Airport. On that occasion, a unit of the Nepali Army paid respect to him. High-ranking government officials and heads of security agencies reached the airport to welcome the Prime Minister.
He went there on the 14th of October at the friendly invitation of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez for the International Conference on Financing for Development of the United Nations (FFD-4).
During his stay in Spain, Prime Minister Oli had various meetings with his counterparts and heads of state from different countries. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Oli had a courtesy meeting with King Philip II of Spain and also met with his counterpart Sanchez. During the
conference, Prime Minister Oli met with heads of government, world and regional organizations, financial and business organizations, businessmen, civil society and representatives of UN bodies.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal expressed its views on the development challenges of underdeveloped, small and island countries at the conference. The conference focused on reducing the immediate and long-term investment challenges for sustainable development.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by his wife Radhika Shakya, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Secretary of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office Rajkumar Shrestha and members of the Nepali delegation.
