Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah on Thursday dismissed Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Rameshwar Chaudhary for disobeying his instructions. Chief Minister Shah had instructed Chaudhary to resign 16 days ago on June 3.
But Minister Chaudhary publicly challenged the Chief Minister by saying 'to fire him if he can'. Chaudhary, an MP from the Civil Liberation Party, was appointed as a minister on 4th June. In the Far West, there is a joint government of the Congress-led UML and Civil Immunity. After Chaudhary's dismissal, Chief Minister Shah himself took charge of the ministry.
It is reported that the Chief Minister has asked for his resignation expressing his dissatisfaction with Minister Choudhary's failure to follow financial discipline during the preparation of the budget, and not giving any information when appointing the Executive Director in the Khaptad Region Tourism Development and Management Committee.
Even before this, the then Forest Minister of the Far West, Lakshman Kishore Chaudhary, was in controversy. The then Forest Minister Choudhary resigned last March after being accused of financial transactions. He also became a minister through civil emancipation.
