The Federation of Nepalese Journalists has demanded that NCP UML Lahan Nagar President Rajkumar Sah be brought to justice for insulting journalists on the subject of news.
Regarding the news related to Lahan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ramchalitar Mahato, he Manoj Banaita Yadav, president of Siraha Branch of Nepal Journalist Federation, was abused by using vulgar language on social media. The Central Working Committee of the Federation drew attention to this and condemned it.
Federation General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal issued a press release on Wednesday and demanded that legal action be taken against City President Shah who abused the branch president of the federation.
'Injuring a person's social character and reputation while enjoying freedom of expression is highly reprehensible and a social crime,' the Federation's statement said, 'The Federation condemns such an act and draws the attention of relevant agencies to investigate the incident and take necessary legal action against the culprits to ensure safe and fearless journalism.'
